Kimberly-Clark Corporation Provides Support To Victims of Hurricane Charley
DALLAS, August 17, 2004--Kimberly-Clark Corporation (NYSE: KMB) today delivered more than $125,000 in product donations to the Tampa, Fla., area in response to the Salvation Army's request for personal hygiene products for victims of Hurricane Charley.
Truckloads of Kimberly-Clark products including Huggies diapers and baby wipes, Kotex feminine products, Depend incontinence care products, Kleenex facial tissue, Cottonelle bath tissue and Scott paper towels were delivered to the Tampa-area Salvation Army Relief Center today.
"There will be difficult days ahead for Floridians, but all of us at Kimberly-Clark take heart in the outpouring of support shown by individuals, charities, companies and communities to help the people affected by this tragedy," said Thomas J. Falk, Kimberly-Clark chairman and chief executive officer.
The Salvation Army will provide both short-term relief in the way of food and clean-up kits, as well as long-term recovery support in the wake of Hurricane Charley.
"We're incredibly thankful for the timely relief effort provided by Kimberly-Clark Corporation and its employees," said Kevin Smith, emergency disaster services director for The Salvation Army in Florida. "The products supplied will fulfill an immediate need to victims throughout the Tampa area."
