George Everbach, Kimberly-Clark Senior Vice President of Law and Government Affairs, To Retire August 2003 DALLAS, June 5, 2003 - O. George Everbach, 64, senior vice president for law and government affairs, today announced that he will retire from Kimberly-Clark Corporation (NYSE: KMB) at the end of August 2003. Ronald D. Mc Cray, 45, currently vice president, associate general counsel and secretary, has been elected by the company's board of directors to succeed him.

Mc Cray will assume his new position July 1, at which time Everbach will serve as a senior consultant to the company until his retirement. 

"George has been a key contributor to the company's success for the past 20 years," said Thomas J. Falk, chairman and chief executive officer. "As a senior member of the Kimberly-Clark leadership team, we have relied greatly on his guidance and business know-how. I will miss George and his many contributions. 

"Ron has a thorough understanding of Kimberly-Clark's worldwide businesses and is highly regarded by our leadership team and board of directors. His expertise in corporate governance, business transactions, and securities and intellectual property law will continue to contribute to Kimberly-Clark's heritage of innovation and position as a leading global marketer of consumer brands." 

During his tenure, Everbach reshaped the legal department, centralizing the function to provide more efficient and effective counsel to the corporation and its business sectors. Among his many achievements, he successfully concluded a number of long-standing antitrust and patent lawsuits with Procter & Gamble in 1992. He also was instrumental in negotiating the Scott Paper Company merger in 1995, which contributed significantly to transforming Kimberly-Clark into a global consumer products company. 

Mc Cray Brings Broad Legal Background, International Expertise 

Mc Cray joined Kimberly-Clark in 1987 as a senior attorney and in 1993 was promoted to senior counsel with trade regulation, intellectual property and international responsibilities. He was appointed vice president and chief counsel in 1996 and to his current position in 2001. 

Mc Cray graduated from Cornell University in 1979 with a bachelor of arts degree and received his juris doctor degree from the Harvard University Law School in 1983. He also attended executive management programs at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in 1991 and the Kellogg Management Institute at Northwestern University in 1997. 

Mc Cray serves on the board of directors of Knight-Ridder, Inc., and The Hockaday School in Dallas. 

Everett Named Vice President and Secretary 

Timothy C. Everett, 40, currently vice president and chief counsel for Kimberly-Clark's North American operations in Neenah, Wis., has been elected to succeed Mc Cray as vice president and secretary, effective July 1. 

Everett joined the company in 1993 as a senior attorney at Kimberly-Clark's world headquarters in Dallas. He was named counsel for the North American Feminine Care sector and the company's Caribbean businesses in 1997. He relocated to London in 1999, serving as senior international counsel. In 2000, he was named to his current position. 

Everett graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor of business administration degree in 1984 and received his juris doctor degree from The University of Texas Law School in 1989. He also is a certified public accountant.
